We all know that the new education policy draft had tried to shift the focus of students a bit away from gaining in just the bookish knowledge to pass the exams to improving many other skills needed to get fit in the current timeline.

Means, we can deduct the soul concept of the policy which is preventing the students from becoming slays of book and change the whole perspective from "what to learn" to "how to learn".

Meanwhile, the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry which is undertaking this great task of implementation of this policy, has recently disclosed such a pathbreaking feature that no-one can get their eyes off.
So first of all in the Right to Education (RTE) Act, an incrementation in gaining free education is being proposed, to raise from 14 years to 18 years which will bring both early childhood education and secondary education in the umbrella of RTE.
This move will be the biggest step to raise the literacy rate of India and educate students for free, not just till class 8 but till making them eligible to commence forward for colleges.
The key point of change was the junking of a 10+2 year format to the new 5+3+3+4 year format. Know in detail below:
- 5 yrs [3-8] Foundation Stage: Grade 1,2
- 3 yrs [8-11] Preparatory Stage: Grade 3,4,5
- 3 yrs [11-14] Middle Stage: Grade 6,7,8
- 4 yrs [14-18] Secondary Stage: Grade 9,10,11,12
And the work behind the implementation of the above format has been initiated, the Government is to instruct all the government education boards of India to work on it.
All the government educational boards are also asked for their personal suggestion inputs in the proposed draft, which will be only cleared for implementation after hearing and thinking on all the inputs.
So overall the efforts are in the direction of the introduction of a totally new examination system for schools which will make its focus largely on class-based assessments for students.
And the examination intervals are proposed in the 3rd, 5th and 8th standards which will be held by the state census, yaa they will be called the "board exams" then which will replace our final examinations.
But they will not at all same as the current troubling and traumatic one exams for students in present. The state census will have to make a way to test the students in core subjects and their skills & capacities.

And more in it, in fact, the students will be given a chance to make their choices in the range of subjects and semester in which they want to appear for the examination.
This will be a true and best part of the relief for the Indian students who currently have to restrict their focus to only a few subjects and that too for just threshing more and more marks which are the basis of evaluation in exams and now as per the proposal straightly from the draft, the evaluation will be done on the basis of the class-based performance of a student.
The governance and the regulation of the whole education picture in India are being planned to takeover by a new independent body named National Education Regulatory Body (NHERA) which will remove too many regulators from functioning and freeing the colleges and varsities to make their own decisions.
And the gears are being speeded up to complete the whole editing for all the changes and improvements in the draft to send it forward for the final clearance and the whole process is expected to be completed by 2020 October.
And in 2021 finally, the new sun will rise with the dawn of new education policy to revolutionize the country by making the foundations of education, the resource for human development, more deeper and stronger.
