ISRO news: students on a 2-week tour of all the four ISRO facilities and for more, they'll have a talk with the ISRO chairman K Sivan!!!

As every year the ISRO [Indian Space Research Organisation] organises a two-week summer vacation programme for young students named YUVIKA [YUva VIgyani KAryakram].

The main purpose to organise it every year is to cultivate the seeds of basic knowledge regarding the subjects like space science, space technology & space applications in the young minds.

Subjects like renewable energy, rocket engineering, environmental science, astronomy and space applications.

The programme will also focus on some skill development topics like leadership, communication, etc.

And the most exciting part of the programme is that the students will able to do a "samwaad" with the ISRO chairman K Sivan and other senior ISRO scientists on 17th May.

Students will also be taken for a visit to all the four ISRO facilities namely the Satish Dhawan Space centre [SHAR], Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Banglore & Space Application Centre to see the launch pads as well as integration facilities there.

The topics included in the course will be loaded in the tablets which will be distributed to the students at the starting of the programme.

Students who will be attending the programme are independently handpicked by ISRO on the basis of three students per state and union territory.

They are selected on the basis of their performances in 8th standard in the scholastic as well as extracurricular areas.

Meanwhile, the programme will be inaugurated by ISRO's chairman K Sivan at Satish Dhawan Space Centre and will have a duration of two weeks ie. from 13th May to 26th May.

This initiative has full potential in it for developing the interest of students in space technology and enlighting a desire of doing something new in the field of space for India.
