Sri Lanka, the island nation sharing water boundaries with India, shivered with eight horrific and killer bomb blasts on the auspicious occasion of Easter Sunday, the holy festival of Christians.
In the early morning roughly at 8:00 am, 6 blasts took place one after another. Three blasts were in three different churches and the other three were in three different luxury hotels.
And till the news spread across the world, two more blasts took place at noon, roughly at 2:00 pm.
Six among the eight blasts were in Colombo, the largest city of Sri Lanka. The blast sites were reportedly St. Antony's Shrine, Shangri-La Hotel, Kingsbury Hotel, Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Dematagora Housing Complex and Tropical Inn.
While among the rest two, one blast took place at St. Sebastian Church in Negombo and the other one at Zion Church in Batticaloa.

The country was just shocked by the blasts. They were deadly and disturbing too. Till now it has taken the lives of 290 innocent people and over 500 injuries are reported.
The Sri Lankan government immediately took over the situation.
The prime minister called a series of immediate meetings, 200 troops were deployed in cities as well as curfew was imposed in the entire country. 10 days holiday in schools was also declared by the government.

According to the Sri Lankan media, the country's intelligence had alerted the police so police called off 10 days alert in entire Sri Lanka.
Till now none of the individual or group has taken the responsibility of the blasts. However, the Sri Lankan government has all the doubts on Thowtheeth Jamat in Sri Lanka.
Particularly the Cristian community was targetted in the blast and that too on their holy festival Easter Sunday.
