Rahul Gandhi, prez. of INC (Indian National Congress) will be contesting from two constituencies for the first time ahead of Amethi slipping from his hands.

One from the Gandhi family's veteran seat Amethi, Uttar Pradesh and other from Wayanad, Kerala. The details were shared by Congress leader AK Antony.

He is a Parliament member since 2004 from Amethi seat. But in 2014 he faced huge competition from Smriti Irani since he managed to win with a thin margin of 107903 votes.

Congress working committee had decided to make Rahul contest from two seats including Wayanad in order to get a boost in support from Southern India.

In Amethi, he had defeated Smriti Irani in 2014 with a thin margin. But by growing years and Irani's mutual visits to Amethi and questioning Mr Gandhi has generated anger in people against him.

And this time also BJP has given Irani ticket from Amethi and as per the exit polls till the date, the Amethi seat is slipping from hands of Congress.

The reason for this is the increase in Irani's popularity in Amethi since here 2014 defeat. Congress might have fear of Mr Gandhi's defeat so they choose Wayanad, so claimed the opposite party leaders.

The micro study of Wayanad seat shows that Congress has a significant presence there as they rule the seat since it was created (in 2008).

BJP has no significant presence in the southernmost states (for here Kerala), till they raised the Sabarimala issue, which to has not proved much worthful for them.

Congress will make fight Mr Gandhi from Wayanad with the help of their Kerala Ally Muslim League against the Lefts who currently have a government in Kerala.

Congress' this move is strongly Critisized by several BJP leaders like Smriti Irani (who's also his opponent from Amethi seat), Ravishankar Prasad, etc.

Well firstly Wayanad will have polls on 23rd April and Amethi will have polls on 6th May.
