Recently the Gujarat High Court has rejected Hardik's plea for a stay in 2015 Mahesana (Gujarat) riots case.

This new twist in Gujarat's politics will now shatter his plans to contest Lok Sabha-2019 Polls from Jamnagar, against BJP candidate Poonamben Madam.

With a very high josh and commitment, the crude cast politician Hardik Patel joined Indian National Congress on 12th March 2019, in presence of many Congress leaders including Priyanka Gandhi, Sachin Pilot, Congress prez. Rahul Gandhi, etc.

After joining the party he kept forward his wish amongst the Congress' "Ala-Kaman" (Congress' high command) for a ticket to contest Lok Sabha-2019 from Jamnagar constituency.

He said that he will contest the election with the demand of welfare of farmers, unemployment, etc.

He plead to Gujarat High Court on 8th March seeking a stay on the 2015 Mahesana riots case against him.

Actually, on 23rd July 2015 case was filed against him for rioting in Mahesana. He was proved guilty by Visnagar sessions court and sentenced 2-year jail and was barred from contesting any election. Later on, he got bail with Rs 1,500 fine.

Earlier also, Hardik has proved beneficial for Congress in Gujarat 2015 local elections and 2017 Gujarat Vidhan Sabha elections to gain the strength against BJP in its fortress.

Only due to the Hardik (Patidar) factor Congress has seen an uprise in rural Gujarat. So Hardik's contesting elections had a very high potential for Congress to be No.1 in Gujarat, but that's all not practical now.

As soon as he joined Congress, even people of his cast began to oppose him claiming that he has fooled the Patidar community with the name of reservation.
